Autumn 2011

Atumn has arrived with it´s beautiful colours and mild temperatures. Let´s celebrate this beautiful season with the new collection of The Vintageblues, inspired by the colourful autumn setting surrounding us these days.

The first picture was taken at a lake in a small town in the East of Germany, called Maust. A beautiful place to  enjoy the last summer days and think about all the beauty of autumn yet to come. I could have sit there all day, but our bikes were waiting.

Maptote

When walking the Berlin streets, one of the things you can not ignore is the tote bag. So many young people use them, not only to go shopping but as an alround purse. I am not sure yet whether it´s only a temporary hype or a sustainable and environmental friendly new trend.
If you are looking for an original totebag, take a look at the Maptote website. A Brooklyn based young couple creates environmentally friendly tote bags and wine totes with maps of cities printed on it. Your bag will come in handy when you´re lost.

On maptote you can find a tote bag or wine tote for almost every city! Go and find your favorite.

Have a nice weekend

Berlin´s (secret) garden

In the vibrant Berlin neighbourhood, Kreuzberg, you can find the Prinzessinnengärten (Princess Gardens), a mobile urban farm. The garden project was launched in 2009 at a site which had been a wasteland for over half a century. The once hidden and forgotten corner made place for a little urban garden adventure : Fruit, vegetables and herbs are being grown in wooden boxes, milk cartons, ....and everything is organic - no pesticides allowed. During winter the mobile garden moves into the Eisenbahnmarkthalle, an old covered market in Kreuzberg.
You can walk through the garden and have a drink or a snack, made out of fresh garden vegetables and herbs of course. Last week they even organised a flea market in the garden.

The Berlin mobile garden is worth a visit. Please visit the website if you want to find out where to find the garden or how to participate in the project: prinzessinnengarten

Dear Photograph

This idea is genius in it´s simplicity. Hold up a photograph from the past in front of the same location where it was shot and photograph this setting in the present. What a beautiful way to remember the old days. You will be surprised how much things have changed over the years.

Dear Photograph was founded in May 2011, by Taylor Jones and has become very popular since.
I posted my favorites pics but there are many more on the website or you can even upload a picture yourself.
